National Defense University Explores AI's Role in Security
PHNOM PENH – June 2, 2026 – As artificial intelligence reshapes industries worldwide, Cambodia's National Defense University is taking proactive steps to ensure its leadership and personnel are ready for the technological challenges ahead.
On Monday afternoon, the university organized a strategic lecture on the "General Context of Artificial Intelligence (AI)," presided over by H.E. Professor Dr. Chhem Kiat Rithy, Senior Minister and Chairman of the Council for Economic, Social and Cultural Affairs.
The session brought together university leadership, staff, military lecturers, and students to explore the opportunities, challenges, and implications of AI and emerging technologies within the context of national security and defense. The lecture emphasized the importance of understanding how AI can impact operational effectiveness, education, research, and institutional development.
Beyond immediate knowledge sharing, the event aimed to strengthen human resource capacity and preparedness for the rapid evolution of the global technological landscape, ensuring that Cambodia's defense forces remain aligned with the demands of the digital era.
