Hainan Influencers Cheer Cambodia Visa-Free Move

HAIKOU – May 21, 2026 – Major tourism enterprises and renowned influencers in Hainan province have applauded Cambodia's landmark decision to grant visa exemptions for Chinese citizens, pledging to dramatically increase Chinese tourist arrivals to Cambodia.

The commitment came during a working meeting led by Cambodia's Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak, who headed a high-level delegation to Hainan to promote the "Visit Cambodia Green Season" campaign alongside the newly announced visa exemption.

Under Cambodia's 14-day visa exemption for Chinese citizens, effective from June 15 to October 15, 2026, Hainan's tourism enterprises and influencers pledged to surpass the existing 300,000 Chinese tourists who have visited Cambodia since 2016, setting a new target of 500,000 visitors in 2026.

Minister Huot Hak expressed high appreciation for the strong cooperation between Cambodia and China and thanked the private sector and influencers for their active role. He requested Chinese partners to widely promote the visa exemption program and Cambodia's tourism potential to residents of Hainan and other parts of China.
Both sides agreed to strengthen tourism cooperation through special tour packages, FAM trips for influencers, and joint promotion.
