French Ambassador Visits NPMEC in Kampong Speu, Observing Humanitarian Mine Clearance Training
KAMPONG SPEU – June 2, 2026 – French Ambassador Olivier Richard visited the National Peacekeeping Center (NPMEC) in Kampong Speu province to observe a training course on humanitarian mine clearance activities organized by the Defense Cooperation Mission of the French Embassy.
The five-week training course is led by two Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts from the 13th Engineer Regiment. It enables Cambodian Blue Helmets to develop the necessary skills to ensure the safety of deminers and civilians during the management and clearance of explosive remnants of war.

The Security and Defense Cooperation Department has supported the training of officers and non-commissioned officers at the NPMEC in Cambodia for over 15 years, preparing them for deployment to United Nations peacekeeping missions.
