Cambodian Human Rights Chief Condemns Those Still Aiding Online Scam Networks

PHNOM PENH – June 2, 2026 – Keo Remy, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee, has issued a sharp condemnation of individuals who continue to facilitate online scam operations despite clear government directives to eradicate such activities.
In a statement, Keo Remy expressed deep concern that the nation's dignity is being insulted as Cambodia becomes associated with online scams. He noted that those who have suffered from these crimes remain in pain and will teach their children to remember the harm caused.
"The nation has been insulted. The country's name has been linked to online scams," he said.
He criticized those who, despite being selfish and shameless, continue to commit offenses and provide locations for online scam groups without fear of the law. He reminded the public that the head of government has issued unequivocal instructions with no exceptions.
"It is shameful that some still refuse to wake up," Keo Remy said.
