Cambodian Authorities Arrest 26 Foreign Nationals in Preah Sihanouk Online Scam Raid

PREAH SIHANOUK – June 3, 2026 – Cambodian authorities have detained 26 foreign nationals following a raid on a rented villa in Kampong Som city allegedly used for online scam operations, officials said Wednesday.

The operation was conducted on June 2, led by Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor Noun Bunthol, with coordination from Deputy Prosecutor Kang Thyrem. Officers targeted a villa near the "Spean Tracheak Chet" area in Koky village, Sangkat Bit Trang.

Among those arrested were 23 Vietnamese and three Chinese nationals, including three women. None of the suspects possessed valid passports, according to authorities.
Seized items included 11 laptops, 20 mobile phones, two automobiles, and one motorcycle. The 26 suspects, along with the confiscated electronic devices and vehicles, have been transferred to the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Headquarters for further investigation and legal proceedings.
