KEP – May 20, 2026 – The Ministry of Environment will celebrate International Biodiversity Day 2026 on May 22 at the Tro Sar Siem headquarters of Kep National Park in Kep province, under the theme "Acting Locally for Global Impact."
The event will bring together approximately 500 participants, including national and sub-national officials, international and local partner organizations, development partners, local authorities, community members, and students.
Activities will focus on five key areas: raising public awareness about biodiversity, showcasing local conservation actions, engaging youth and communities in preservation efforts, supporting Cambodia's National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, and strengthening collaboration between the government, partners, and local communities.
The celebration reflects Cambodia's commitment as a signatory to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and highlights the Kingdom's efforts in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
