Cambodia Pitches Investment Potential to Samsung Electronics in Korea Roadshow

Phnom Penh, June 15, 2026 – Cambodia has made a direct pitch to Samsung Electronics, one of the world's largest technology conglomerates, as Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol led a high-level delegation to the company's global headquarters in Suwon City, South Korea.
On the morning of June 15, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), held a working meeting with Mr. Park Seung-Hee, President of Corporate Relations of Samsung Electronics, at the Samsung Innovation Center. The meeting marked the first day of Cambodia's investment attraction roadshow in the Republic of Korea.
Accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister were H.E. Khoun Phonrattanak, Cambodian Ambassador to South Korea; Mr. Park Joo-bong, Chairman of the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry; senior officials from the CDC and Ministry of Commerce; as well as representatives from the Cambodian Oknha Association and the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

During the dialogue, H.E. Sun Chanthol highlighted Cambodia's regional comparative advantages, including its strategic positioning, favorable investment climate, and competitive benefits, emphasizing how these factors align with Samsung's long-term strategic expansion plans. In response, Mr. Park Seung-Hee acknowledged Cambodia's immense potential and noted that Samsung has been actively studying these positive factors. He added that investment expansion decisions are subject to sequential internal evaluation procedures, which require a certain period for comprehensive review.
To facilitate the decision-making process, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the Royal Government's readiness to provide comprehensive coordination and strategic information to ensure Samsung has a solid foundation for evaluating investment opportunities in Cambodia.
Samsung Electronics' global headquarters in Suwon, established in 1969, is known as "Samsung Digital City" and employs approximately 35,000 personnel.
