Cambodia and China Reaffirm Strategic Partnership at Bilateral Meeting in New York

UNITED NATIONS – May 28, 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn held a productive bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the morning of May 27, 2026, on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council High-Level Open Debate.
During the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed sincere appreciation to China in its capacity as the Rotating President of the United Nations Security Council for the month of May, particularly for its invitation to Cambodia to participate in the High-Level Open Debate presided over by Minister Wang Yi.
Both foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the Cambodia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation and to working closely together across multilateral platforms to promote regional stability. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues, particularly the latest developments concerning the Cambodia-Thailand border issues.
